Thomas County Woman Charged with Statutory Rape for Second Time
THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WTXL) - A woman was charged Tuesday with statutory rape for the second time.
According to Thomas County deputies, back in 2013, Kerianne Johnson was charged with child molestation with a 14-year-old, who says he was her boyfriend.
In 2013, deputies say she did not go to trial because it was not recommended by a grand jury.
This time, investigators said they learned from witnesses that Johnson was engaging in sexual activity with another 14-year-old boy.
THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - the woman was arrested Tuesday and taken to the Thomas county jail after investigators said she engaged in sexual acts with at least one minor.
Kerianne Johnson, 28, is charged with child molestation. Last year, she was charged with statutory rape, but a grand jury no-billed the charges, and they were dismissed.
Captain Steve Jones with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office said, “When you think of a child molestation case, people think of a male and the child being the victim of a male. But it does happen that there are female offenders as well.”
